Well.....

no followers yet. I feel like I am talking to myself, lol. I just don't have time to spread the link to this site around all over the place and frankly, I crochet or knit just all day long and it doesn't leave much time to blog.  Anyway, I have crocheted a bunch of stuff since I last posted on here. I have 25 things in my etsy shop now and one sale. Etsy is very, very slow. You have to spend money to become someone on Etsy and I don't have that much to spend. Anyway, here are some of the new goodies.

Anyway, I am sure there are some missing but that is most of the new projects. I also have a new facebook page that is doing pretty well. It is where I post my etsy stuff and any interesting free patterns I find.

Hope to see you there!

Today's Crocheting

I was busy today finishing up some chicken potholders. I had a pattern but I felt that they were just too small and thin to be used as real potholders so I adjusted the pattern until I got a larger chicken and then made it two layers instead of one.

These are listed in my Etsy shop here. Chicken potholders

Then I got to working on a simple pattern for baby bibs and I added just a simple little butterfly to them. They are really pretty. I wish my camera would have taken a better picture of the colors especially the lilac colored one. It looks way too dark.

Burnt Orange Teardrop Earrings

I am pretty sure this is the last set I am making tonight. I have done nothing but crochet and bead all day. This is a really lovely set. I did nothing but single crochet around the outside of the teardrop and then add the beads down the center. They are really lovely. I almost hope they don't sell, lol.

Flower Earrings

I have been very busy today trying to get some stuff put in the Etsy shop. These are two sets of "flower" earrings that I made today. I had never made any of these before I just thought the flowers might fit in those hoops and worked on it until I got it right. These do not take an incredibly long time to make but they are an absolute pain to make. The thread definitely did not want to cooperate.

Blue Teardrop Earrings

I have a whole box full of beads that I haven't done anything with and I thought it would be nice to make some jewelry for the shop. So I started with these earrings. They combine crocheting with beading. This set is very simply done but I think that is what makes it lovely and elegant.

I really did almost keep these for myself as they are so pretty but I need them in the shop more than I need a new pair of earrings. Here is the link: Crocheted Blue Teardrop Earrings

More Potholders

Had to make another set of those potholders and will probably eventually  make more colors as well. These are listed on my Etsy shop here: Sleepy Owl African Flower Potholders in yellow

Sleepy Owl African Flower Potholders

After making my frog I found a pattern for these owls and I was pretty sure I could make them into potholders and have my own pattern, so that that is just what I did. Right now I am just selling the potholders on Etsy but if I ever get time I may sit down and really get the pattern perfect and then sell the pattern as well. I really like them. They don't take a long time to make but look great and can really be used.

Fergie the Frog is Done

Finally! I have always wanted to do one of the African flower motif animals. HeidiBears has patterns for them all over the place. I bought mine for $6.50 on Ravelry.com. I had never bought one of their patterns and expected just a pattern. I printed it off and it just kept going and going and going. Thirty-five pages worth of going! Yeah, you might say she goes just a little overboard on the directions. You would think that this would be easy to make then but it really wasn't. I did the thing where you attach the motifs as you go and it was just a real pain. I probably will never do that again. It is so much easier to get through a motif when you don't have to do that like on the legs. I also didn't use sock yarn. Our yarn is pretty limited here to regular old Red Heart Super Saver so that is what I used. The directions called for you to knit the toes. I didn't see any reason to switch to knitting when I was crocheting so I made up my own toes. It also called for you to use double yarn on the upper leg motifs but I wasn't using the thinner sock yarn so this wasn't necessary. I used button eyes because that is what I had here. I do plan on purchasing some eyes before I make more of these. I have the pattern for the horse but right now I am working on some potholders using the motif...that will likely be the next post.
